Know your Iron Man Minifigures!!!

Finally saw Iron Man last night.  Other than utterly destroying one of the franchises best villians to a gag it wasn't too bad.  And as an Iron Man fan seeing all those cool Iron Man suits I was in total nerdvana.  

Anyways here's a quick visual for all you Iron Man and Lego minifigure fans to help tell apart the 4 different Iron Man minifigures.

Iron Man 3 - 76008 Iron Man vs the Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown playset

The first Iron Man 3 set I've picked up I couldn't resist.  This is the cheapest of the 3 sets so far with a MSRP of $12.99, but you get the two main characters and you get Iron Man in Heartbreaker armor. The other two sets feature Iron Man in Mark 42 armor.  I do believe between these 3 sets and two previous Marvel Universe sets there are 4 different Iron Man's in various armor types. There is also a Mandarin with a diffent body decals.

As a huge Iron Man fan growing up I'm finally glad to have added at least one of the Iron Man to my minifigure collection.

Here we have Mandarin's assult card with missles and flame thrower.

Here we have a close up of the Mandarin. Both minifigures come with two faces.

I've taken the beard off so you can get a good look at the both of them.

I love the detailing on the Iron Man armor.

I've read a few complaints about the size of the head makes the minifigure look disproportionate and that's kind of true, but that face that the face plate lifts up is pretty cool. So take the good with the bad I suppose.

Will there be a few more sets?  Who knows?  But I'll probably pick up the two cheaper sets getting both Iron Man Armors and War Machine and the Mandarin.  I guess the Pepper Potts and stand alone Tony Stark will be the ones to chase being only available in the more expensive Malibu Mansion Attack set right now.  It'll probably be close to the release date before I see these up here in Alaska, but one can hope.  And you can find all three for the price stated at Lego.com.

Iron Man 3 Sets coming soon?

I have to say I'm really excited that Iron Man 3 is coming out in a few months.  May 3rd to be exact.  I'm a huge Iron Man fan.  Not just the movies, but the comic books as well.  I think that Iron Man was my favorite Marvel Super Hero growing up and still is.  I think it's the whole boys love robots and big guns thing.

Anyways a few of the other Lego blogs I follow, which are on the side bar there, have reported the appearance of a new Lego authentic War Machine Mini Figure being listed on Ebay.

So far posts have been more about the fact that this mini exists.  It's got a steep price tag, but more importantly is the harbinger of sets to come?  I would think with another major Marvel movie and Lego with a Marvel license that we should see at least 5 new Marvel Super Heroes sets all featuring scenes and characters from the movie.  I still have yet to grab my Iron Man mini from either of the sets he's currently featured in, but I will.  I'll probably spring for the Cosmic Cube Chase and pick up a Loki as well.

Anybody else excited at the possibility of seeing some more Iron Man themed sets?

I'm wondering when we'll get some more X-Men stuff as well.
