Minifigure Spotlight - Spider-man 2099

I ended up picking up Lego set 76114 Spider-man's Spider Crawler, which by the way is a super cool build and set all around that included Spider-man, Sandman, the Vulture, and the figure I was most interested in Spider-man 2099.  The set was a gift for my son for Christmas and as luck would have it 20% off at Target so it was an easy choice. Personally the best part of most of the Marvel and DC Super Hero sets are the ancillary characters.  

For those that have no idea who Spider-man 2099 is.  In 1992, Marvel released a full line of 2099 titles that included Spider-man, the Punisher, Ravage, Ghost Rider, and the Hulk.  The comic follows Miguel O'Hara.  If you watched Into the Spider-Verse he shows up in the after credits scene and to be fair I'm not current on any of the Marvel cartoons so he might be around in some current show.  Marvel is released new 2099 titles in a new reboot, I also have not been following them.  Regardless the Spider-man 2099 figure is pretty sweet.  Let's have a look.

Minifigure Spotlight - Reverse Flash

Man I have really been neglecting this blog.  My apologies life sometimes gets in the way.  I did have a bunch of Minifigure Spotlights queued up I just haven't taken the time to write them up.  So let's remedy that right now.  

I'm a huge fan, if you didn't know, of the Lego's Marvel and DC Superhero lines.  And while I do love getting the Batman and Spider-man figures, what I really love is all the ancillary characters that come with the sets.  Case in point this great Reverse Flash minifigure.  Featured in set 76098 - Speed Force Freeze Pursuit, which also has the Flash, Cyborg, and Killer Frost.  One of the few sets not to feature Superman or Batman.  A great minifigure with two faces and a great mask sculpt.

A nice mix of characters spread out throught the Disneyverse.  The only rare characters in the set are the Huey, Dewey, and Louie minifigures falling just 2 per box, and that means each box of minifigures will only yield 2 complete sets.  At least that's what I've found on the interwebs.

Minifigure Spotlight - Green Lantern John Stewart

Besides Kilowog, I'd say John Stewart is my favorite Green Lantern and definately my favorite human GL.  This minifigure was exclusive to the DC Super Heroes Build Your Own Adventure Book.  The build also comes with a bunch of pieces to make a cool translucent space ship. I'll have to see if I can dig it out to show it off.   John comes with an alternate face.  I wish we'd see some more Green Lantern Corps figures.  The only other GL minifigure I know of is the Hal Jordan, from the 76025 vs Sinestro set.  Would be nice to get a Guy Gardner and of course a jumbo Kilowog!! 

Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts Minifigure Series

I've been out of the loop for a' while, but I had noticed a few new Harry Potter/ Fantastic Beasts sets showing up on store shelves.  I totally missed that Lego was going to release a minifigure series as well until my wife, who's a huge Harry Potter fan brough home a few blind bags.  

22 figures in the set. The first 16 are Harry Potter the last 6 are Fantastic Beasts.  I'll also put the per box number in the checklist.  Most figures are found 3 per box, but there are a few exceptions.

Tears of Batman / Disco Batman Online Bonus Polybag

 My son's birthday is coming up and while he's not quite ready for regular Lego's, he loves superheroes so I went online to pick up the larger Duplo Spider-man set.  Of course while shopping I had to pick up a few goodies for dad and I also wanted to hit that $75 threshhold so I could get this.  It's been awhile since Lego has offered a bonus that I wanted.

I haven't gotten to see the Movie yet, but I've only heard good things.  However I've found the minifigure series to be awesome even if some of the figures are ridiculous.  These two are just as ridiculous and just as cool.  Have a look.

 The gold cape is super sweet and shiny.
