76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape

I'll be honest I haven't seen Man of Steel yet.  It's on my to do list. Anyway, when the movie came out Lego gave us 3 movie related sets. Unfortuneatly all three sets have the same Superman and Zod.
For my money the middle set is probably the best deal. Plus you get Lois Lane. If all you're interested in is the Superman and Zod I'd say just grab the smaller $12.99 set.
The Superman is different from the 6862 Superman vs Power Armor Lex  set. Which is currently the only other Lego set to feature Superman that is not movie related.

The control area has a sliding door and a fold down computer screen.

The escape pod is big and has all sorts of neat details

On to the minis.  Every minifigure in this set has two faces to pick from.

Zod has a lot of pieces and comes with extra hair to display him without his helmet.

Back detail with out the camp
Front detail without the armor.

Superman vs Power Armor Lex 6862

You may find this hard to believe, but growing up I was a huge comic book fan.  Oddly enough I was more of a DC fan than Marvel.  I still loved Spiderman, the X-men, the Avengers, and especially Iron Man, but I was really a big Justice League of America fan.  It was a great comic.  You got all the great DC heroes all in one book.  I think that's my one complaint with Lego's DC Universe it's all Superman and Batman centric, but you do have some great anncillary characters that come with a few of these sets.  This set is one I've had my eye on for some time and what better time to pick it up than when there's a sale.  Not only that, but this is the only current set with the Superman in classic costume and you get Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman to boot!  Plus Lex's Power Armor is pretty kick ass.
I've never picked up or seen one of Lego's Hero Factory kits, but I'd have to assume that alot of the components are the same or similar.
The hands on the power armor are pretty great.
As is the Krytonite Gun on the right arm.
Lex looks pretty bad ass sitting behind the controls.
A little less bad ass on his own though.  I think this really could be anybody.  Business suit guy? Too bad they didn't take advantage and put Lex in his personal body armor from say like the Super Powers days.
Wonder Woman is all around great.  I'm curious if we're going to get to see her in her own set or another costume.
She comes with two faces to choose from too.
This is a great Superman Minifigure.  The three new movie tie-in sets all feature him in his movie costume, but I think this one takes the cake with it's bright colors.
Superman also comes with another face.
Over all a great little set.

Three New Superman Sets just in time for the Movie.

I'm sure this has been reported, but since it's new to me I'm going to post about it.  I just saw on the What's New page at Lego.com that they have 3 new DC Super Hero Superman Sets coming out tied to the new movie due out this summer.  Sets are due to be release May 14th, but looking at the Lego site they have these listed as available now.

It would appear right now that every set has a Superman and a General Zod, so if your only interested in those two you can grab the cheap set for you two mini's.  The medium priced set features Lois Lane and most expensive set feature an army guy and two of General Zod's buddies.
