Minifigure Spotlight - Series 5 Graduate

Been slow here at the Minifigure Collector and life has been hectic, but we'll have to see if I can get little more posting in now that my work load has settled down a bit.  And what better way to celebrate the upcoming release of Series 12 than a throw back spotlight to Series 5.

Here we have the Graduate.  I think I pick this up from a trade a while back.  Always nice to fill in some holes in the collection

He comes is the mortar board had and a unique graduation gown.

And a very detailed Graduation certificate.

Minifigure Spotlight - Simpsons Series - Milhouse

I finally found some Simpson minifigures the other day.  The big news was that these cost a buck more than the last series. We'll have to see if the price goes back down when Series 12 comes out later this year.

Anyways I only grabbed one pack so I wasn't worried about who I got and didn't feel up any of the packs.
I probably should have since Milhouse was pretty low on the list.  I will most likely pick up the rest of the series if I can find it later.

I will say the head is very well done and from what I've seen the rest of the series is just as good.
Milhouse comes with a Biclops comic book, and if you remember almost destroyed the comic book store with his huge order.

Simpson Minifigure Series

Lego sent out this picture a few days ago showing the 16 new Simpson Minifigures that will be in blind packs due out the end of April, first part of May to coincide with the May 4th Simpsons episode that is Lego themed.

Here's the checklist. I'll update it when I know the official numbering and they'll be added to my Minifigures Series page.

1. Itchy
2, Scratch
3 Krusty
4. Milhouse
5. Marge
6. Apu
7. Chief Wiggum
8. Ralph
9. Grampa
10. Nelson
11, Lisa
12. Homer
13 Bart
14. Mr Burns
15. Maggie
16. Ned Flanders

I'm a little disappointed that there's not one of the more obscure characters from the Series, but who knows maybe we'll get more than one series for the Simpsons.

30225 -Lego City Coast Guard Seaplane Polybag

I was out looking for a nice Valentine's Day card for my sweetie at Target and saw a pile of these in one of the aisle.  I figured why not treat myself as well and pick up a polybag I didn't have.  Part of the City Coast Guard theme we get a nice little seaplane and pilot.

I also like the plane features a throwable life ring.

The minifigure comes with a snazzy life vest and hat.

He also has nice body detailing.
Cool little set for a four dollar bill and you get some nice elements too. At a little over a dime a piece that's not too shabby.

Getting closer to putting together a Justice League

I have no idea if Lego is ever planning on putting out a Justice League themed set from the DC Super Heroes line. Right now everything is Batman related. But I just saw that March's Lego Promotion will be for this guy...
homana homana homana. That's the freaking Martian Manhunter and any fan the Justice League, especially the old school team, will  know this guy.  We are getting one step closer to having a full licensed Justice League minifigure set. Just need a Green Lantern and Green Arrow to show up, maybe a Black Canary. So far we've got a slew of Batman to choose from, one non-movie Superman, a Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman.  I'm going to start working on my JLA satellite right now!!

76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape

I'll be honest I haven't seen Man of Steel yet.  It's on my to do list. Anyway, when the movie came out Lego gave us 3 movie related sets. Unfortuneatly all three sets have the same Superman and Zod.
For my money the middle set is probably the best deal. Plus you get Lois Lane. If all you're interested in is the Superman and Zod I'd say just grab the smaller $12.99 set.
The Superman is different from the 6862 Superman vs Power Armor Lex  set. Which is currently the only other Lego set to feature Superman that is not movie related.

The control area has a sliding door and a fold down computer screen.

The escape pod is big and has all sorts of neat details

On to the minis.  Every minifigure in this set has two faces to pick from.

Zod has a lot of pieces and comes with extra hair to display him without his helmet.

Back detail with out the camp
Front detail without the armor.
