Tears of Batman / Disco Batman Online Bonus Polybag
My son's birthday is coming up and while he's not quite ready for regular Lego's, he loves superheroes so I went online to pick up the larger Duplo Spider-man set. Of course while shopping I had to pick up a few goodies for dad and I also wanted to hit that $75 threshhold so I could get this. It's been awhile since Lego has offered a bonus that I wanted.
I haven't gotten to see the Movie yet, but I've only heard good things. However I've found the minifigure series to be awesome even if some of the figures are ridiculous. These two are just as ridiculous and just as cool. Have a look.
The gold cape is super sweet and shiny.
Sorry for the blurry photo, just to show I ended up with a couple extra pieces.

76001 The Bat vs Bane: Tumbler Chase
I'm a big Batman fan. And I'm a huge Lego Super Heroes fan, both DC and Marvel sets. But to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the Dark Knight set , but when I can pick up a $40 set for almost half price...I'll suffer.
I think what I like best about all the Batman sets is that fact that almost all the Batmen are different. From a collecting stand point this is great. Especially if you are buying the set for the minifigures like I tend to do.
This set not only gets you a unique Batman, but a different Bane from the more comic book version in the 6860 Batcave and I do believe this is the only Commissioner Gordon. Let's have a look.
Here's an overall view of what you get. The Bat, the Tumbler, 3 minifigures, and 2 road blocks
I think the over all design and build of "the Bat" is spot on. Not perfect, but for a Lego version it's pretty cool. And the overall articulation of parts is impressive as well. The arms with the guns and missiles looks really good.
The tail is pretty neat too.
There is also a rope on the back to hang Batman from.
Like wise I think the tumbler was very well done as well. I'm also happy to say that both figures fit their respective minifigures perfectly too. This tumbler is a completely different design than the one from the 2008 movie set 7888 The Batman Tumbler : Joker's Ice Cream Surprise.
On to the mini's!!
You get Commissioner Gordon in SWAT gear. He also has two faces to choose from.
You get the movie version of Bane. I can remember back in the 90's when DC introduced Bane. I don't think anyone at the time gave him much thought and who knew that he would become literally the Bane of Batman? Maybe the name was a giveaway?
And of course the star of the show..Batman. This suit is similar to others I've seen, but I do believe it is at least a little different. As usual he comes with two faces as well.
Here's the back detail.
Overall a great set and I'm glad I picked it up.

A Closer Look - 76012 - Batman: The Riddler Chase
Well the selves are still really bare in the Lego aisle up here in Alaska. I did see some fresh Lego Movie minifigures finally, but no movie sets and no new other 2014 sets. Lego has release it's first two new DC Super Heroes sets. Both Batman related. The one I'm most interested in is this set. Mainly because I'm slowly building my Justice League minifigure set. Previously you can get Superman (non-movie), Wonder Woman, Batman, and Aquaman. This set will let me add the Flash. Now here's hoping we get a Green Lantern and or Green Arrow soon.
I'm not sure how or why the Riddler came about a drag racer or why he seems to think that it's the best getaway vehicle, but you do get a pretty cool looking new Batmobile out of the set.
First up we get a new Batman with gray suit and black cape and cowl and lone black bat. It does look similar to previous versions, although the ones I've seen the belt is different. I think this is the 14th new Batman in the line and we get another new suit, the aqua suit in the upcoming Penguin release. The one that comes with the new Man-Bat set is a black suit, cape and cowl with the bat in the yellow oval. That one looks very similar to previously released minifigures, although I'm not an expert. I do like that Lego has realized the potential with it's Batman figures and the different variations of suits. Now if they would just do that more with Ironman.
Of course the highlight of this set for me will be getting an official Flash minifigure. I'm not sure if this Flash is suppose to be Barry Allen or Wally West, but it's still the classic Flash.
I'm a big fan of the comic book villians too. A hero is only as good as his rogues gallery. And while the Riddler is far from my favorite Batman villian this is a new version.
I'll have a full review and photos of the build when I get this one in my grubby little hands.

76000 - Arctic Batman vs Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice
To quote Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger from the franchise killing movie Batman and Robin, "Chill out."
When I first saw this set come out earlier this year it was on my must haves. I mean you get a great Batman variation and Aquaman! Sure Aquaman gets his fair share of ribbing, but let's face it, unless Lego decides to do a full blown Justice League set you're probably not going to see another Aquaman mini anywhere else but here.
Let have a look at the set.
Mr. Freeze is up to his antics again and it's up to Batman to free a frozen Aquaman. The Bat-Blade is pretty neat.
Those orange things on the back I do believe are suppose to be detatable mines or something like that
The push rods in the back are suppose to shoot out these discs. I'm not sure what they are supopse to be. And they don't come out easily either.
Here's a look in the cockpit.
And a close up of the jet flame and butt mines.
The ice prison is pretty well done and actually would pair nice with the Yeti mini from Series 11.
Alright lets have a look at the minis
First up is the Arctic Suit Batman. I think it would have been cooler if the Batarangs had been white too.Batman comes with dual faces as well.
Aquaman. I lost his trident somewhere and still haven't been able to find it.
He's also dual faced.
Mr. Freeze. DC has a whole stable of cold related villians. Mr. Freeze, Captain Cold, Killer Frost, you get the idea and oddly enough I think all three are in Batman's rogues gallery.
Mr. Freezes backback is a reuse of the Astronauts backpack with blue visor. I think it works well.
Here's a look at Freezy striped down.
Over all a nice little set. Can't go wrong for this set for around $20. The variant Batman and Aquaman make it more than worth it.
